There were many aspects of the home I was house sitting that I enjoyed, but one in particular that I want to implement into my own home is having speakers installed in the ceiling of many rooms. Moving from room to room or even walking into the house and hearing gentle ambient sound was very soothing and generally set the tone of the household.

Yesterday I was in the basement of my printer guy. It was very dark as he was setting up a tabletop shot of product (he's a photographer as well). He had some very groovy ambient music playing that seemed to allow him to hum along tweaking his setup, but didn't get in the way of his concentration. That's when I learned about groovera. I'm listening to it as I type this. It plays directly from your Itunes library and I suggest if you have an interest in cool vibes, that you check it out.

I've been at the mansion (read: house sit) all week. I'm living like a real townie. City folk, that's me. I've been skating every night at city hall and taking my dog for two walks each day like all city folk do, once in the morning and again at night. I have no scheduled ferry to catch. I go out and I come back, go out, come back, go out....come back. It's magical. I'm also warm indoors all the time. My bed is warm, the kitchen is warm, the living room, the basement too. There are no drafts or wood stove to feed. I have had a steam shower and jet bath. I have had planned and impromptu dinner guests, (okay that happens on the island too). I have neighbours! I have neighbours who love their outdoor hockey rink in their backyard and play day and night. I love it. I can see my other neighbour eating his breakfast with his shirt off...but he's old. I have a cleaning lady who told me about her blood work this morning. My vacation as city folk lasts one more week, the down side is now I kinda don't want to go home.
